“Our stay at this gorgeous cottage was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a very warm welcome, and a very thoughtful welcome pack with lovely touches.There were flowers in every room, Prosecco and beautiful home made scones.

The cottage itself was spotless and beautifully decorated, providing a cosy and comfortable atmosphere.
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the hot tub, where we were able to relax and unwind after a day of exploring.

Kathreen our host was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed for our memorable stay. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a top-notch get-away!”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dandelion cottage! It was absolutely spotless and beautifully presented, with thoughtful and charming touches throughout. The welcome gifts were incredibly generous and much appreciated, setting a warm and inviting tone for our visit.

The hot tub was a fantastic bonus and made our evenings extra special. The location was ideal for exploring Hadrian’s Wall and the Roman forts, as well as nearby Carlisle and the Lake District. We couldn’t have asked for a better base for our trip.

It was very well equipped and had lots of lovely finishing touches, fresh flowers Prosecco, chocolates and a welcome food tray. After our days out visiting some of the beautiful surrounding towns, villages and lakes we soaked in the fabulous hot tub.

“Wow 🤩 not sure how else to start this review …. Fantastic stay in the Dandelion Cottage, it was spotless and decorated with & accessorised to the highest standard. There were beautiful fresh flowers all around the cottage with a bottle of Prosecco, chocolates and a card for my birthday – what a lovely touch.

The hot tub was a fab addition which we enjoyed on both evenings – the gardens were full of colourful plants and flowers and everything was cared and looked after.

We would recommend this gorgeous get away for anyone wanting a high quality comfortable relaxing stay. Kathreen was absolutely lovely nothing too much trouble and gave us a parting gift of freshly made blueberry muffins with an additional box for family we were leaving to go and visit ( she didn’t have to do that but just shows what a lovely person she is ) can’t thank her enough 😘 or my husband coz to be honest i wouldn’t have been if it wasn’t for him -couldn’t have ended my 50th birthday celebrations in any better way x”

“We stayed at Hoglet Cottage for a week and I must say its one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in…the cottage itself is beautifully decorated with everything you need for a self-catering holiday… it was immaculately clean upon arrival.. the bedroom is huge with the most comfiest bed in the world…and the huge rain shower in the en suite was lovely, all the toiletries and hand soaps were all branded and some were even made locally at the lakes..each room had fresh flowers in which made it so nice… the cottage garden, carpark and surrounding areas are all well kept and looked after. We were there to celebrate our 23rd Wedding anniversary and Kathreen and Mike had left us a bottle of Prosecco, a card and a box of lovely chocolates..along with a welcome hamper filled with all your essentials. The highlight of the week was coming back after a day exploring the beautiful surroundings to the hot tub.. which was checked daily by Kathreen..

“What a beautiful place to spend for a very romantic weekend it is absolutely gorgeous. The cottage is very clean and the bed was very comfortable. On our stay we met Kathreen the owner, what a lovely lady, she can’t do enough for you she even made us some scones with strawberry jam, strawberries and clotted cream which went down a treat!! The hot tub was amazing which added to the ambience of the experience and the garden is gorgeous. We love the cottage as this is our second visit this year and we have already booked again for next year!!”

The cottage is in a perfect location to visit all surrounding areas such as the lake district. Highly recommend Keswick and a boat tour. The red lion pub which is just a short drive. The cottage is a must to visit. Will definitely come back.”

“Stayed for a long weekend, what a great stay it was. Private and peaceful. Pretty garden and enclosed hot tub area. The cottage itself had everything you could possibly need, lovely decor high standard furnishings, well presented and clean. With some lovely touches like chocolates, fizz, seeds for the garden, food essentials milk butter etc and even a birthday card. Owner is lovely too very welcoming. “Just back from our stay in Dandelion Cottage for a birthday weekend and would not hesitate going back. What a wonderful cottage, excellent décor and such wonderful little touches in terms of fresh flowers everywhere throughout the cottage, Prosecco and chocolates, along with a supply of milk, eggs, bread etc., to keep you going. The hot tub is covered which is good for the winter months, but there is plenty garden space for summertime and also for a bit of star gazing (if you wish to) with a telescope in the utility room too. There is a lovely log burner in the main area for those chillier nights should you need it. Easy access for visits to other places in and around the area if you wish to explore during the day. Thank you to the hosts for this enjoyable stay.”

“This was our 3rd visit and suffice to say it didn’t disappoint. The Dandelion cottage is the most wonderful, serine, cottage one could hope to stay at. The host Kathreen’s attention to detail is excellent. The garden and surrounds are an abundance of beautiful shrubs and flowers. Apple and plum trees, rich with fruit are plentiful at this time of year. The cottage has an enclosed garden area. Beyond is a wonderful meadow. Hares and deer can be seen daily exploring the meadow, as too can a variety of birds and red squirrels. The hot tub and log burning stove are welcome features in the cottage. The place truly is set up for a relaxing break with easy access to the Lake district. Planning our next trip 😀”

“What a wonderful find! We needed some R&R away from everyone/thing and this was perfect. From the early arrival to finding Prosecco, chocolates and a rose , plus bread, cheese. eggs, butter, milk, it was all amazing. It’s one big room downstairs with living area, dining and kitchen all in one. There’s small utility room with washing machine and freezer, plus a separate toilet. Then upstairs to the bedroom and the most glorious picture window looking out over the garden and up the lane. An en-suite bathroom with large shower completes all that you need. Outside is your own hot tub which we used every day, what a treat! Towels and robes are provided for that, plus bathroom towels of course. We didn’t see much of Kathreen as she had a cold so stayed away but she was available via WhatsApp if we had needed her. We will definitely be coming back here, hopefully with the dog next time!! A star, 10 out of 10 :-)”

“What a fantastic break we had Dandelion cottage. I can honestly say that the cottage has been decorated and furnished to one of the highest standards I have seen is a holiday let. The welcome package was also a great touch and came in very handy. (especially the Prosecco and the birthday card for my partner)
The communication and the holiday guide provided was also something that helped us make the most out time.
I feel I have to finish the review with mentioning the fantastic Hot tub, log burner and Christmas tree. They truly added to a very cosy romantic break and overall great experience. I’m definitely considering returning in the spring or autumn. A big thanks to Kathreen for making our break away a memorable one.”

“I booked Dandelion Cottage to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The cottage was finished to an excellent standard and the Prosecco and food hamper to start the holiday off was really appreciated. It was amazing to walk into a beautifully warm cottage with the wood burner already lit for us, a thoughtful touch on a cold December evening. “Excellent cottage, was welcomed with a small hamper etc, the fire was amazing which kept the whole cottage warm, the cottage is so relaxing and the bed is very comfortable, we went in the hot tub a few times and also that was amazing we stayed mon till Friday and did activities like go to Newcastle, Carlisle etc then came back to relax, it was sad on leaving day because you gain a bond with the cottage and miss the peace but overall its one of the best experiences in our lives and highly recommend to all to visit you will love it and we are hopefully planning to visit again in summer.”

“We booked this lovely cottage for our honeymoon in the lakes. We were blown away with how lovely the property is. The owner had left us a little hamper of bread, butter, eggs etc. which was a nice touch. And warm fresh scones, which tasted amazing! We couldn’t fault the place, it was very clean and very warming. We had the log fire on every evening while we relaxed and also spent a decent amount of time in the hot tub. We would definitely return in the future!”

“Absolutely first class stay here over the Bank Holiday. Total peace from the moment we got there. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful, with the little extras like Prosecco and fresh eggs adding to the perfect setting. Our favourite time was sitting at the garden table either for a leisurely breakfast or pre dinner drinks, surrounded by the beautiful setting of the flower garden. The kitchen had all you would need for a self catering holiday and the bedroom was comfort personified. The rainforest shower was also excellent. The hot tub was checked regularly and was just right for size and temperature. Cannot fault this place at all. Five minutes from Dalston village for country pubs and a supermarket if needed, and within striking distance of the Lakes and Hadrian’s Wall. We felt like we were miles from anywhere and will definitely be back.”
