There’s the heritage and history of nearby Carlisle city centre, a 10-minute drive away, with its Cathedral, Carlisle Castle and Tullie House. Just a 20-minute drive away, are the fells and attractions of the Northern Lake District National Park – you can be out among the Wainwright hills and lakes in next to no time.

The Eden Valley with its sandstone villages, winding river and great local food and drink is also close at hand. Just beyond Eden is the North Pennines area of outstanding natural beauty. With its wide-open moorlands, characterful villages and mining heritage, it’s still an oasis of calm. It even has its own seasonal ski resort!

To the north you can quickly access the wild places and hidden gems of the Borders and southern Scotland.
